Ovum is a fertility tracking device that uses the sampling of saliva over the menstrual cycle to track when the user is fertile. When looked at through a lens, salt crystals are visible in saliva when the user is fertile. These crystals appear 3-5 days before ovulation and fade away after the egg is released. In order to attempt to make fertility tracking a shared process between two partners, Ovum projects the saliva sample out into the room to a diameter of 2 metres.
Ovum won the Danish Design Innovative Concept Award 2021
