Turned on - Turned off

In 2018 a contraceptive microchip will be made available to women. The contraceptive microchip is designed to be used for sixteen years and comes with its very own remote control. This remote control can disable the microchip when the time comes that user wants to become pregnant. This film aims to make more tangible the realities of this development in contraceptive methods from the perspective of the user.

This film is a result of the thesis "Turned on/Turned off; Investigating the Interaction Design Implications of the Contraceptive Microchip" which you can read here.
